P81 Graduate From Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses

SCROLL

Platform81 Director Alec Middleton has done us proud by recently completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses North West Programme.

The programme is an investment to help entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing greater access to education, capital and business support services. Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation fund the 10,000 small businesses.

The course which is delivered by Manchester Metropolitan University is offered to businesses with growth potential all over the UK. Over the 20 days of study with University tutors, the course covered all aspects of business growth, including the identification of growth opportunities, financing for growth, people & culture and sales & marketing. The ultimate aim of the course was to write a Growth Plan that would act as a road map to help businesses achieve their objectives.

Platform81 Director Alec Middleton said of the programme:

“As a small business you can easily come to a point where you run out of ideas and need guidance to help drive your business forward and achieve further success.

Platform81 has been established for 7 years now. In the last 5 years we’ve seen steady growth in terms of client value, headcount and turnover. We’ve even launched an office in the Midlands. Continued growth for Platform81 or any business will always require the management team to step back and evaluate the business to formulate a plan for the future. The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme offers the perfect environment for this.

Thanks to The Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme, Platform81 now has a growth plan for the next 5 years and the future looks exciting. We’ve identified the most important factors for success and we’re starting to make some real changes to help us achieve our future goals.

Our mission has always been to help small businesses achieve great things. Marketing is a key part of the growth for any business.

Thanks to the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Programme, we’ve also started working with others from the course and look forward to supporting their growth aspirations going forward. We’ve created some great links with Manchester Metropolitan University, which we aim to cultivate over the coming years.

If you are a small business with growth aspirations, then you really need to apply for this course!”
