After being blacklisted on Google, Artificial Grass Direct reached out to Platform81. Through a dedicated SEO campaign, we secured a first-page ranking for the highly competitive term ‘artificial grass,’ which sees over 100k searches monthly. We optimised product pages with rich content, created detailed category descriptions, and audited over 300 outdated blogs, updating and removing them as required. Our targeted strategy, including publishing relevant articles and adding internal links, even yielded some coveted ‘position 0’ results.
The budget for these campaigns was spread too thinly across multiple keywords that weren’t generating enough of a return to be profitable. We stripped back the campaigns and focused on the top keywords for quality and revenue. Being more laser-focused on the budget instantly cut out a lot of poor-quality traffic and increased campaign profitability.
We then started to introduce further campaigns based on converting search terms, adding in remarketing to users who had requested a free sample but not purchased and Google Shopping.
