Here at Platform81, we’re all about the people and we truly believe that teamwork makes the dream work and working closely together in our creative environment enables our award-winning team to be the best they can be.
Collaboration is key for us to ensure we provide the best results for our clients, and one team who certainly work collaboratively is our dedicated Social Media, SEO and PPC teams who form the Digital side of our business…
Account Director Amanda began her digital career studying Creative Advertising at University. After this, Amanda found her feet as a Social Media Executive and in 2017, after working in three different agencies and one in-house job, Amanda found herself forming part of the Platform81 Digital team, managing the Digital accounts and driving the Social Media team to success online.
For Amanda, the three most important things to succeed in this industry are determination, ambition and confidence; three qualities she embodies throughout her work managing our Digital Accounts and driving the Social Media team to success.
“Believe in yourself, if you do, other people will too.”.
Junior Digital Marketing Executive Jenny actually started her career right here with us as our Digital Marketing Apprentice back in 2018. Having gone on to gain a Level 3 Distinction in Digital Marketing, a CIM Level 4 Merit in Marketing and recently completing the IPA Foundation course, it’s safe to say Jenny has plenty of knowledge under her belt despite her mere few years in the industry.
When she’s not filling the office with festive joy (all year round we might add), Jenny can be found running effective organic and paid social media and email marketing campaigns, writing content for websites and blogs amongst many other things and being a general supportive part to the entire digital team.
“Working well in an agency dynamic is all about adaptability, communication and willingness to learn more. Oh and plenty of sweet treats too!”
Fiona, our Senior SEO Account Manager, joined the Platform81 team in June 2015, making her the second longest serving member of the team (after Directors Nick and Gary and Senior Designer Ryan!).
Fiona has always been creative, ever since studying Art and Design at University however it was working with creative people, and being at the forefront of projects, involved from the very beginning right to the very end, that confirmed for Fiona that an Account Manager Role was for her as it allowed her to do all this, whilst still keeping an element of creativity in her role.
“The most important thing to succeed in this industry is to have the ability to move with it. You need to be constantly evolving with it, and always willing to learn new things.”
Before landing upon the stars of SEO, space-fanatic Tom tried every trade from electrician to air conditioning technician and even a casino croupier! Tom’s curiosity for how search engines worked, and thus the start of his SEO career, actually came about after being given strict writing guidelines ‘for Google’ in his previous role of a content writer for a French company.
Since then, Tom has gone on to become our Senior SEO Executive, working closely with Fiona to ensure our client’s websites move in the right direction and similarly to Fiona, Tom believes that keeping up with the latest developments in the industry as a whole, and not just the particular channel you work on, is what’s important to succeed in this industry, as well as maintaining a great synergy between the different departments within the company.
“The best thing about what I do is that my client’s success is also my success and that’s a great feeling.”.
Although the big dream was to be a West End star, our PPC Manager Rachel actually started her digital career after being made redundant from a job working for the army. With now-husband Chris working in PPC, Rachel found a job within the same industry and started from scratch, learning on the job.
Since then, Rachel has developed the skills to supercharge campaigns and help deliver instant market presence, creating even more bang for your buck. For Rachel, being able to adapt is key to her role, as PPC is about testing and trying new things day in and day out so, being open to change and being willing to learn is important. Having a sing-along to some west end soundtracks also helps too, apparently.
“My favourite part about coming to work is definitely the banter and being in that office atmosphere, surrounded by colleagues who make you laugh, knowing everyone has got everyone else’s back.”
