8 Powerful Ways to Improve Your Online Presence

It doesn’t matter whether you’re an SME or a large corporate business, or whether your company conducts business online or not; in this day and age it is expected of you to be online, and it’s expected of you to be doing it well.

If your online presence isn’t effective enough, you could be losing out on the opportunity to grow your customer base, your business and therefore your success.

You might think you’re fine because you already have a website and social media accounts, but you certainly don’t want to be that person with “all the gear but no idea”. You may have the necessary platforms, but are you using them effectively enough?

From our Web Design and Development Team to our Digital Marketing and SEO Team, we’ve come up with some powerful ways in which you can improve your online presence.

Web

  1. Consider a design refresh.

Design trends have shifted massively over recent years, so if your company is still represented by a website which is over five years old, it’s definitely time to think of refreshing the design. Consider a proven design agency (like us!) to help transform your old, outdated, website into a visually stunning website which engages your audience and converts clicks into customers.

2. Ensure all third-party website modules or plugins are up to date.

Out of date plugins and files can pose massive security ricks and could even result in unwanted access to your website.

3. Ensure your website contains up-to-date information about your business.

You don’t want users to land on the homepage and see Christmas offers that are no longer applicable. This makes both your website, and your business, look both outdated and inactive.

4. Ensure your website is cross compatible.

In order for a website to work across every device, and to perform successfully on these different devices, it needs to use responsive coding and testing that you may want to consider. Nowadays if a site isn’t mobile friendly, it might not even rank in Google now.

SEO

5. Update your SSL certificate.

If your HTTPS/SSL certificate is out of date, there is a strong chance it’s not ranking and therefore won’t return as a Search Engine Results Page (SERP).

6. Stay relevant.

If an external link is choosing to link to your products, make sure it is relevant and doesn’t adhere to ‘Bad Neighbourhood Link Association’. What we mean by this is if for example you sell clothes, a fashion influencer would be a fantastic link to gain whereas a plumber, not so much…

7. Check your redirects.

Nobody wants to be sent to an irrelevant page. If your customer clicks a link to view a suit but actually ends up on a page about dresses, your SEO is likely to be affected negatively.

Social Media

8. Check your social media icons on your website.

What may seem like a simple design tweak to many, is still something that so many sites don’t incorporate. Each of your active social media channels should be reachable directly from your site. Like the world of web design, the world of social media is an ever-changing one, therefore it’s vital your website reflects your brand as the cutting-edge business that you are.

If you’re desperate to improve your online presence with all the ways mentioned above, then now is the perfect time to get in touch with us. Our tried and tested approach gets real results which you could soon be seeing for yourself.
