2022 Recap With Our Directors

As 2022 comes to an end, we’d like to take this opportunity to sit down with our directors and reflect on the year we’ve had. From our proudest moments and achievements to our hopes and aspirations for 2023. Let’s see what our Directors, Nick (Managing Director), Gary (Technical Director), Caroline (Operations Director) and David (Web Director), have to say. 

What is one of your proudest moments of P81 from 2022? 

2022 as a whole has been a really positive year for Platform81. We’ve grown as a team and also as a business. A great achievement for us was becoming ISO 9001 certified! Gaining this internationally recognised accreditation from ISO Quality Services Ltd ensures our services meet the unique needs of our clients. It also demonstrates that we have the right resources and tools in place to protect our client’s data and processes. ISO 9001 has enabled us to show our team is consistently working to the highest standards and to future-proof our business and we continue to showcase this going into 2023.  

The team at Platform81 has grown by 20% in 2022. With the addition of many new faces this year, our team is bigger, stronger and better than ever. Each individual truly brings something great to the team. We wouldn’t be where we are today without every single one of them. The hard work the team has put in this year is our drive to achieve greater things in the New Year. Not forgetting that our teamwork and collaboration across departments is the reason we have achieved many 5-star reviews this year. We hope to enter 2023 continuing to build our reputation of offering 5-star service to all of our clients old and new. You can check out our reviews for yourself here! 

We were extremely proud to bring back our annual event. Our progression this year wouldn’t have been possible without the clients and suppliers who support us and put their faith in us as a team and a business. Being able to show our appreciation for them at our annual event was a proud moment for us all at Platform81 and who doesn’t love a good party? 

What do you wish for P81 to accomplish in 2023? 

Due to how much we have achieved this year we want to raise the stakes in 2023. Platform81 will be bigger and better than ever, mark our words! We hope to grow our team and our clients. We are constantly on the lookout for areas of improvement within the business. Additionally, we are planning to expand our team internally to be able to achieve this.  

A big goal for us in 2023 is to win more awards. In 2022 we were shortlisted for 2 awards and highly commended for one, which is close but not close enough! We want to aim high in 2023 and set big goals for our team. We know we have the abilities and skills to achieve an award in the New Year and have full faith in us as a team at Platform81 to collaborate and deliver outstanding projects that will be recognised at awards throughout the UK. 

How has the P81 team grown in 2022? 

We have seen exponential growth in our internal team this year as our team has grown by 20%. We have also established a sales team which is extremely exciting for us as a business. Not only have we introduced a business management/sales department but almost all our departments in the business have seen growth. We have welcomed new team members across the SEO, Design and Account Management teams, which has really allowed us to grow and welcome new clients this year. 

Another key factor to our growth was the mid-year acquisition of the well-established Glossop-based agency, Fig. We worked closely with the team at Fig to ensure their clients were looked after, and that the transition was as smooth as possible. We have built some great relationships with these clients, and look forward to working with them into 2023 and beyond. What’s more, is we now have 2 great additions to the team at P81 with Lizi and Callie coming on board. 

How has P81 progressed over 2022? 

We’ve made some significant changes to our work structure throughout 2022, introducing many changes to the way we work at Platform81 and we’re seeing some really positive results because of them. Work-life balance is really important to us and making sure the team feel as though they have a good balance is a priority of ours. We have welcomed 3pm finishes on a Friday and are in the office 2 times a week and work from home 3 times. Our flexible approach to hybrid working and our working hours have positively impacted our staff and we can see how these changes have improved productivity throughout all departments.  

As part of our continual strides to improve the business, we have re-designed and implemented our new support and hosting offering for our web clients. Our hosting infrastructure is better than ever, and our around the clock SLA driven web support is unrivalled. 

Any exciting plans for 2023? 

2023 is an exciting year for us, especially because we will be celebrating being 15 years old! We’ve had a lot to celebrate over the past 15 years but this birthday feels like a huge milestone for us. The work we have accomplished over the past decade has really been work to be proud of, especially the projects and campaigns we have delivered throughout 2022. We truly think 2023 is going to be our best year yet and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for us as a business and as a team at Platform81. 

We are thrilled to give our office a revamp. Our idea is we want to create a more creative space that sparks ideas, innovation and productivity so we are excited to give our office a makeover. Our designers are working on some exciting design concepts as we speak, and you can be the first to see the transformation over on our Instagram. We hope 2023 will be another year of growth and development for P81. Our goals to continue expanding and upskilling our team are at the forefront of our business objective for 2023 and we can’t wait to bring more showstopping projects to life. Our New Year goals are to grow, expand and develop our team, we will be a force to be reckoned with in 2023!
